Little is known about the art collector, E.L. Paget, except that he was an Australian businessman living in London. Of his antiquities the most famous is the extraordinary Roman gilded glass jug known as the Daphne Ewer, now in the Corning Museum of Glass (acc. no. 55.1.86).

Condition
Repaired from several fragments with small areas of infill. The white face of Ariadne/maenad looks overpainted and a triangular area around it restored. There is an old collection label on the inside of the vase

Condition
Repaired with some areas of infill. An area of restoration on Side A (approx. 3 cm.) to the right of the plumed helmet. Decoration on Side A slightly more worn than in Side B.  Some holes from ancient repairs still visible.
